Regular preventive care can ensure better health for your cattle, sheep, goats, and other small ruminants. Vaccinations are available to prevent respiratory infections and Clostridial infections including tetanus and blackleg.
Regular deworming is essential for preventing parasites including intestinal parasites, flies, ticks, and lice. Fecal examinations are especially important in small ruminants as resistance to dewormers is very prevalent. We recommend working with your doctor to determine when to deworm, which dewormers to use, and when to perform fecal screens to check for efficacy.
Our USDA-accredited veterinarians can provide TB and Brucellosis testing, Brucellosis vaccination, and official health certificates — services that many non-accredited veterinarians cannot offer.

Trich is a sexually transmitted disease causing abortions and reduced calf crops. Texas requires Trich testing for bulls in many situations — we strongly recommend it for any breeding-age bull, especially new purchases.
Goats and sheep quickly develop resistance to dewormers. We recommend fecal egg count monitoring (FAMACHA scoring) to determine when treatment is needed and which dewormers remain effective.
