Dr. Lesha Dawson

Dr. Lesha Dawson grew up in a small rural community in Nebraska, where her connection to animals and agriculture began at an early age. Over the years, she has cared for and rehabilitated a wide variety of animals including a kangaroo. This lifelong experience has shaped her passion for veterinary medicine and her appreciation for the unique bond between people and animals.

Dr. Dawson joined BVH in 2017. As a veterinarian and practice owner at Bastrop Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Dawson enjoys the variety that each day brings. Her professional interests include surgery, reproduction, bovine medicine, and dermatology. She especially enjoys the challenges of veterinary medicine and the many opportunities it provides to use her skills in service to others.

Dr. Dawson is passionate about teaching and mentoring, and she values creating an environment where the next generation feels valued and supported. She is grateful to be part of a community that embraces agriculture, strong values, and a commitment to caring for animals.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Dawson enjoys spending time with her family and animals.
