Dr. Alexi Wahl grew up in Georgetown, Texas, and has always had a passion for caring for animals of all kinds. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University in 2019, where she focused on livestock medicine, particularly cattle.
Shortly after graduation, Dr. Wahl joined the team at Bastrop Veterinary Hospital. She enjoys the variety that veterinary medicine offers, from supporting the health and productivity of livestock herds to providing compassionate, individualized care for companion animals. Dr. Wahl has special interests in feline medicine and canine reproduction. She enjoys helping cats receive the thoughtful, specialized care they deserve, as well as guiding clients through every stage of the reproductive process, from pre-breeding planning and reproductive management to pregnancy, whelping, and neonatal care.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Wahl is deeply passionate about animal rescue and rehabilitation. She has a special place in her heart for animals of all sizes in need of a second chance and frequently takes on medically intensive rescue cases that require extra time, patience, and dedication. Whether caring for orphaned bottle babies, nursing injured animals back to health, or helping vulnerable animals find a path to recovery, she is committed to giving each one the best possible opportunity to thrive.
When she’s not at the clinic or caring for rescue animals, Dr. Wahl enjoys spending time outdoors on the ranch with her extensive animal family, which includes dogs Grit, Buddy, Reyna, and Little, along with cats Zeva, Cain, Lucy, Stone, and Wren.
